One of my favorite debates in publishing is “platform.” I’ve already posted a blog on this, receiving many interesting emails due to that posting. Ultimately, many writers face this hurdle, as it’s something any agent (or editor) discusses on very regular basis. Whether the discussion occurs at writing conferences, through online forums, or during writing classes, aspiring and published writers still desire to learn the precise “boundaries” in developing a large “platform.”
The book I would recomment to ANY author is “Get Known before the Book Deal” by Christina Katz. It’s down-to-earth, a quick read, smart, and VERY doable; presenting publishing with a common sense approach, and the perfect tool for anyone who desires to be published.
